news | May 08, 2017

Scientific paper on hyperopic clinical trial in Nepal awarded best paper at the 2017 ASCRS Conference.

Congratulations to HCP partner Dr. Dan Reinstein, Tilganga’s Dr. Kishore Raj Pradhan and the other co-authors on the best paper recognition at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Annual Meeting for their paper, "First Results of Small-Incision lenticule extraction for Hyperopia: optical Zone, visual Acuity, and Refractive outcomes.” The paper evaluates the outcomes of moderate to high hyperopic small-incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) in a prospective study at Tilganga’s Refractive Surgery Unit.

The Refractive Surgery Unit at Tilganga was a joint project with Tilganga, HCP, USAID and London Vision Clinic and has served as an important model for providing refractive services in the developing world.
