Documentary focuses on importance of corneal transplantation

Joel Addams is raising funds to finish his documentary on corneal transplantation in Nepal. HCP has long supported corneal work at the Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology in Kathmandu through training and direct support. In 2011, Tilganga provided 150 corneal transplant surgeries, and in the first quarter of 2012, they provided 58 corneal transplant surgeries.

Watch a trailer for the "From the Eyes of Buddha" documentary project here. The video explains that Dr. Sanduk Ruit and Dr. Reeta Gurung have been on a journey to improve the problem of corneal blindness in Nepal, which has included not only only public awareness, but also changing attitudes of society and the Buddhist and Hindu religious leaders about corneal donations after death.
