Community Eye Hospitals

Community Eye Hospitals are the next step beyond a Community Eye Center. Community Eye Hospitals serve as surgical facilities with at least one full time ophthalmologist on staff and a full team of eye care professionals.

Hetauda Community Eye Hospital in Nepal

HCP supported the development of the Hetauda Community Eye Hospital in Hetauda, Nepal. Site work and construction took place between 2005 and 2008.

More than 3,750 surgeries were provided at the Hetauda Community Eye Hospital in 2013. The team at Hetauda is engaged in extensive outreach work, and they have steadily increased the surgical volume each year. The number of surgeries has more than doubled since 2009 — after HCP's investment in infrastructure.
