Dr. Michael Feilmeier graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University, going on to receive his medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. He completed his internship in internal medicine at the University of California, San Diego and his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL. Feilmeier then completed a fellowship in corneal surgery, external eye disease, and global blindness prevention with Dr. Geoffrey Tabin at the University of Utah, Moran Eye Center.

Feilmeier is currently the medical director of the International Division of ophthalmology and adjunct professor of cornea and external eye disease at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. He also works in private practice as a corneal specialist at Midwest Eye Care in Omaha, NE.

Feilmeier serves on the Board of Directors for the Nebraska Lions Eye Bank and is a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Cornea Society.
