Himalayan Cataract Project (HCP) Finances
HCP is committed to maintaining a lean administration and small staff to ensure that the greatest amount of financial assistance possible is directed to HCP’s goal of eliminating blindness. Currently, 92% of expenses are directed to HCP programs.
The majority of facilities that HCP has helped establish are financially self-sustaining through cost-recovery. HCP receives a combination of funding from individuals, private foundations, corporations and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
HCP receives donated equipment and consumables from ophthalmic corporations and individual physicians, as well as donated service time from ophthalmologists.

According to Charity Navigator, "Only 5% of the charities we rate have received at least five consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Himalayan Cataract Project consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, and outperforms most other charities in America.
