Governance

The Himalayan Cataract Project (HCP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation headquartered in Waterbury, Vermont. The programmatic work and vision of the HCP is determined by our Board of Directors, developed and managed by the Officers in our management team, and guided by recommendations from an Advisory Board made up of long-time supporters of HCP and leaders in the field of international ophthalmology and development.

The HCP takes great pride in our financial efficiency and accountability. We work to maximize the value of every donation we receive and strive to direct those funds where they are most needed. More than 90 percent of our expended resources support our efforts to eradicate preventable blindness throughout the world.
