Adrienne L. Graves, Ph.D. is a visual scientist and a global industry leader in ophthalmology.

From 2002 to 2010, Graves was President and Chief Executive Officer of Santen Inc., the US arm of Japan's largest ophthalmic pharmaceutical company.

She joined Santen in 1995 as VP of Clinical Affairs to initiate clinical development in the US, and was responsible for three new drug application approvals. She was promoted to Sr. VP of Worldwide Clinical Affairs (Japan, US, and Europe), and was subsequently named a global corporate officer and CEO of US operations.

Graves currently serves as an Independent Director on the following corporate boards: Akorn, Inc., TearLab Corporation, Aerpio, and Encore Vision.

She is also Director on Foundation Boards, including: American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Foundation, Glaucoma Research Foundation, American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Foundation (Emeritus), Himalayan Cataract Project, Pan-American Ophthalmology Foundation, and KeepYourSight Foundation.

Graves also serves on the Corporation Committee for the Brown University Medical School, the Advisory Board for Amach Capital Partners and cofounded Glaucoma 360 and Ophthalmic Women Leaders (OWL).

She received her AB in Psychology with honors from Brown University, her PhD in Psychobiology from the University of Michigan, and she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in visual neuroscience at the University of Paris.
