Alex Smith Davis serves as the Project Manager focused primarily on the Himalayan Cataract Project's construction of a self-sustaining ophthalmology specialty center in Ethiopia. Before joining HCP, Alex worked throughout the social sector for over a decade. She brings years of experience managing complex international development projects in the water, governance, and health sectors across sub-Saharan Africa on behalf of philanthropists, bilateral, and multilateral donors. She's particularly passionate about ending preventable and curable blindness across the globe. Alex earned her B.A. in Philosophy with Honors from Haverford College and her M.A in International Development from the University of Denver where she was a Sie Fellow.
If her free time, you can find Alex teaching yoga, taking photos, speaking French, and exploring trails with her husband and their dog they brought home from Madagascar, Miles Davis.
