As Program Manager, Julie Richards’ responsibilities include supporting programmatic activity, maintaining established relationships with implementing partners globally, and providing a strong focus on monitoring and evaluation, program design, grant management and program administration.

Prior to coming to the Himalayan Cataract Project, Julie worked extensively in clinical social work practice across the developmental lifespan in both the health and behavioral health fields, as well as worked in program administration while lecturing at the University of Vermont for nearly twenty years. Most recently, Julie enjoyed her small international development consultation practice on social inclusion, where she worked internationally with organizations to identify their Theory of Change and assist them with their program development, strategic planning, outreach, staff development, curriculum design, and monitoring and evaluation plans.

Julie earned her PhD in International Family and Community Studies from Clemson University and holds both Baccalaureate (University of Vermont) and Master (McGill University) degrees in Social Work.
