Kelli Rockandel, General Counsel of the Himalayan Cataract Project, advises HCP's Board and staff on a broad range of legal issues in connection with its programs and operations, including contractual matters, domestic and international grants, employment issues, corporate governance, policymaking, and regulatory compliance.
Prior to joining HCP, Rockandel worked as an Associate Attorney for the Burlington, VT law firm Dinse, Knapp & McAndrew, P.C., where she provided general business representation to nonprofit organizations and businesses, including guidance on tax-exemption issues, corporate governance and formation, mergers and acquisitions, and other commercial transactions. She has also litigated on behalf of individuals, nonprofit organizations, and businesses in various matters, including contract disputes and personal injury claims.
Rockandel earned her J.D. (Summa Cum Laude) at Vermont Law School, where she received the Learned Hand Award for Academic Excellence. She earned her B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Arizona. She is a member of the Vermont Bar Association and serves on the Board of Directors of the Burlington Bike Project.
